The National Internship Program is an early career program implemented under the auspices of the Presidency, with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and coordinated by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), to enable our young workforce to benefit from career opportunities provided by public institutions and private sector organizations. Through this program, the aim is to increase the employability of young people, support equal opportunities in accessing career opportunities, and extend these opportunities to all university departments.
Students applying to the National Internship Program are evaluated using a transparent and innovative method that takes into account their academic performance, skill-building activities, and overall achievements, based on their academic/professional, artistic/social, and athletic proficiency scores. Employers submit internship offers objectively, based on the scores obtained in these proficiency areas (academic/professional, artistic/social, and athletic), without seeing the applicants` identity or university information.
In addition to its success at home, the Program is also admired abroad and cited as a model practice by the OECD, offering many young people the opportunity to experience working life while still students and gain early career awareness.
