The 2025-2026 Academic Board Meeting was held with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. M. Nuri Öner and Prof. Dr. İbrahim Bozkurt, our General Secretary Muharrem Sezen, and the academic staff of our faculty. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Yavuz Demirel, delivered the opening speech. Demirel emphasized the importance of evaluating the academic performance of our faculty, taking our education quality a step further, and jointly drawing up the strategic roadmap for the upcoming period. He then presented a detailed overview of the faculty`s current situation, covering the following topics:
Education and Training Processes: Evaluation of student satisfaction surveys and accreditation processes.
Research and Development: Incentives to increase the number of TÜBİTAK, EU, and other externally funded projects conducted within our faculty.
Institutional Development and Social Contribution: Strengthening coordination between our departments and improving the technical infrastructure needed by our academic staff.
Following this, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş provided a general overview of the processes our university is currently undertaking and shared institutional goals for the upcoming periods. In this context, particular emphasis was placed on supporting the research activities of students and academics. Our Rector provided information about the work carried out under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program and the TÜBİTAK 2209-B University Students Industry-Oriented Research Projects Support Program, as well as other UNIDES Projects, with the aim of encouraging the active participation of students in research processes. In addition, national and international projects, academic publication activities, and efforts to improve publication performance were discussed. Furthermore, he evaluated practices aimed at improving academic productivity and enhancing the quality of research outputs at our university by encouraging academic performance. The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session where participants` questions were answered and mutual exchange of views took place.
